GIFT consults with local organizations in a variety of capacities. We provide speakers and resources for churches, college classes, and other venues. We have also help kick-start Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Groups in local high schools. If you'd like to learn more about consulting with GIFT, please contact us.
Our LGBT+ Adult Support Group and our Loved-Ones of LGBT+ Support Group allows us to come together in community and support each other on our journeys. Many of us feel unheard and unsupported at our churches, jobs, schools, and families. We want you to know that you're not alone. You are loved and welcome here. We provide spiritual and emotional support in a safe and supportive interfaith environment. Both enviroments are peer-led.
We provide personal support for LGBT+ individuals, families, and couples. GIFT’s Chaplain, Rev. Jim Lucas offers pastoral care and counseling free of charge. Other GIFT members provide additional support. These services are possible because of the generosity of our donors and members. If you would like to donate to this program, please click here.
To get in touch with Jim, email him at JimLucas@GaysInFaithTogether or call the GIFT office at 616-774-0446.
At GIFT we help organize GSAs (“Gay Straight Alliance” clubs or “Genders and Sexualities Alliance” clubs).
A GSA is student-led club, generally intended for High school or Middle school settings, that aims to make the school community a safer place for all students. The purpose is to provide support and advocacy and help make schools more inclusive.
